Happening at a walking distance from Newcastle’s beaches and harbour is a gutsy gallery with plenty of floor space boasting art work by both local and international artists. Curve Gallery, established initially in the UK, supports emerging artists with a singular vision. Originally a project sponsored by Renew Newcastle the gallery has graduated and is now independent.
Lisa Who, Curve’s coordinator, believes in this outsider art scene. The space provides a platform for international artists to exhibit their work while at the same time exposing local artists and enthusiasts to an array of underground art. Surrounded by a curious selection of cool shops, cafes and independent galleries, Curve adds to the cultural hub and vibe of the city.
